Provide. Preserve. Sustain.
Herb and Marian Weston were lifelong residents of Beatrice, Nebraska. In 1999, as they looked at the beauty and the bounty of their beloved homeland, they wanted to find a way to give back. They recognized that economic progress can lead to disastrous problems for the natural world and they could clearly see increasing encroachment upon the diversity of the land, habitat, and wildlife they loved so dearly.
Like true Nebraskans, rather than wring their hands in dismay, they put their shoulders to the wheel and set their sights on solutions. The result is the Weston Foundation.
In the beginning the Pine Ridge Farm, on the outskirts of Beatrice, was transitioned into a natural habitat and refuge for plant and animal life to flourish. Presently, the foundation manages 112 acres of land set aside solely for this purpose.
The legacy of this land, its native species, and its natural cycles are all of our concern, our passion, and our duty to protect. The legacy of Herb and Marian Weston is our privilege to carry forward.
